I am proud to be the President of a hard working and dedicated organisation of medical professionals who continually strive to be at the forefront of thyroid treatment worldwide.
A Consultant Endocrinologist in private practice within several London clinics, my main area of expertise is thyroid disease. I am involved in the ongoing development of a specialist adolescent thyroid clinic at the University College London Hospital and my areas of special interest within thyroidology are:
- Adolescent thyroid disease
- Thyroid disease in pregnancy
- Thyroid cancer
The BTA annual meeting takes place on Tuesday the 16th of May 2017 at St Thomas' Hospital, London. This will be preceded by a training day for clinician and scientist trainees on Monday the 15th of May at the same venue. The AGM will be scheduled within the annual meeting and nominations are invited from the membership for the posts of president, treasurer and assistant secretary.
Abstract submissions for the meeting should be e-mailed to OkosiemeOE@Cardiff.ac.uk as a word document (not exceeding 250 words) Headings should be background, methods, result, and conclusion and it should include the names of all the authors and their institutions. The deadline for abstract submission is 15 March 2017.
Five CPD points are available for the meeting and travel grants of £300.00 have been allocated for trainees with the highest scoring abstracts. All original abstracts from the meeting will be published in the Journal of Thyroid Research.
