The Clinical Genetics Department within Addenbrooks Hospital offers clinical and laboratory diagnosis which you may want to look at in terms of

  • Resistance to Thyroid Hormone (THRB)
  • Allan Herndon Dudley syndrome (MCT8)
  • Medullary Thyroid Carcinoma and Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Type 2 (RET)
  • Familial Dysalbuminaemic Hyperthyroxinaemia (FDH)



The Exeter Clinical Laboratory at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital offers a number of genetic tests for thyroid conditions listed on the linked page

The Hormone and Steroid Laboratory at Cardiff University Hospital offers a number of assays (analyses) into hyperthyroidism comprising TSH-R antibodies and TSH-R sequencing
